As the 2026 Big V season comes to a close, we’d like to extend a huge thank you to Simon Nicholson for his outstanding commitment and leadership of our Youth League Women’s program this season.
After stepping into the Head Coach role at short notice, Simon did a fantastic job leading our young women, providing stability, guidance and a genuine passion for player development. During this time, Simon also took on additional leadership responsibilities within our NBL1 Women’s program while Megan recovered from surgery, demonstrating his professionalism, flexibility and team-first attitude.
Simon will now transition back into his role as Lead Assistant Coach with our NBL1 Women’s program, while continuing his outstanding work as Coach & Athlete Development Manager at Geelong United Basketball.
Thank you, Simon, for stepping up whenever the club needed you and for your ongoing commitment to developing the next generation of Geelong United athletes.

Jasmine King College Bound:
We’ve got another college bound SUPERSTAR!
A big shoutout to Jasmine King who has committed to Indiana’s Huntington University on a full scholarship!
Averaging 12.5 points, 2.42 assists and 2.33 rebounds throughout her 2026 BigV VYC campaign, along with now 3 seasons of Geelong United NBL1 experience, the stage is set for what’s sure to be a stellar next step in Jazz’s basketball journey!

TAC Geelong United Tournament 2026 (Koorr Koorr Ngitji):
GUB will once again be holding a celebration of our sport by Coming Together (Waddawurrung: Koorr Koorr Ngitji) at a festival of basketball!
Now in its fifth year, the tournament will be held from October 31-November 1, 2026 across the multiple venues that host Geelong United’s community games each week.
Over the course of the weekend, teams will play a minimum of four games against other VJBL clubs, country associations and community teams from across the nation.
