WNBL Update:
We tried hard on the road, but ultimately fell short in an overtime thriller in Adelaide by 6 points.
The loss came at an even bigger cost though, with an unfortunate season ending injury to Gemma Potter who will now go into recovery mode after suffering the 3rd ACL rupture of her career.
Despite the loss and Potter’s injury there were still positives all over the court – One being the return of Shyla Heal, who after a similar knee injury scored 16 points in her Geelong debut. Co-captain Jaz Shelley was a big standout with 24 points and 7 rebounds, while early season MVP contender Mackenzie Holmes stayed consistent with 21 points and 9 rebounds.
Next up, we’re staying on the road and heading to Sydney to take on the flames. Catch all the action this Wednesday night from 7pm – Watch live on ESPN or Disney+.

Shooting School:
Want to take your game to the next level? Our Shooting School is designed for junior players in the Geelong United Community Competition who are looking for an extra session focused on improving shooting skills through game-like activities.
- Learn proper shooting technique
- Practice in real-game scenarios
- Build confidence and consistency
Each session will be made up of a mix of high-volume repetitions with focused skill development and game-like scenarios.

Step Above Skills Sessions:
Take your game to the next level!
Geelong United Basketball’s Step Above Skills Sessions are all about stepping up your game and learning the skills that will help you get ahead of the pack.
TOPIC: Life in the Fast Lane – mastering success in the full court.
These sessions are for VJBL athletes and others wanting to improves their skills by attending one or both sessions. Hosted by special guest Geelong United NBL1 players, each session will be focused on specific skills based development that will help all athletes better their game.

CSO Opportunities:
Become a Customer Service Officer with GUB.
These paid positions are a great chance to earn some extra cash, with both weeknight and weekend shifts available.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Must be 18+ years of age
- Previous customer service experience (preferred)
- Experience in a sporting environment or community sport (desirable)
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and independently
- Confident in using tablets/iPads and basic apps (e.g., PlayHQ)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift and move equipment of 10kg
- First Aid Certificate
- Working with Children Check

U8’s Competitions – Female players needed:
We are currently seeking U8 girls players.
There are currently openings for female players born in or after 2019 to participate in the U8’s Girls competitions for the summer 25/26 season
Games are held on Saturday mornings – Time will vary, but are typically between 8:00 and 11:00 am.
