VJBL Weekly Wrap – 28/11/25

Each week we’ll be selecting VJBL teams to be a part of our weekly wrap!

With another week of VJBL grading games in the books, check out all the latest from each of this week’s selected teams below:

U12 Girls 1: W 37-26

A fantastic performance that pushes the squad to a perfect two-from-two in grading and keeps the door wide open for a potential spot in Victorian Championship (VC).

The defensive intensity was outstanding from the opening whistle, with the group delivering a unified, suffocating effort in the first five minutes that set the tone for the entire game.

It was also great to see almost the entire roster hit the scoreboard, highlighted by strong contributions inside the paint and consistently reliable play across the court.

This team has developed impressive chemistry in a remarkably short time. Their connection, camaraderie and commitment to each other are already evident, and weโ€™re excited to see how they finish the final grading game and what they can achieve throughout the season.

U12 Boys 3: W 54-43

The boys made a major improvement from last weeks loss by doing a really good job on the glass and winning the rebounding battle, along with defensively getting stops on the press.

The team has bought into the system & culture of ball movement & team which is really encouraging to see.

U12 Boys 5: Draw 45-45

After trailing by 15 points in the third quarter, the boys showed amazing character and came back getting a draw with a buzzer beater with the final shot of the match!

U14 Boys 2: W 35-30

After a long drive to play against Wallan 14.1s at their home courts, the boys played well to take out the win and hit top of the ladder for their grading pool.

There was good offence and defence on display by the Geelong boys to get the win.

U14 Boys 4: L 44-56

We travelled to Eagle stadium with 7 players and gave our all. We stayed with our opponents for 3 and a bit quarters but eventually ran out of gas.

Scores were level at the start of the forth. We played a brilliant transition game and left nothing in the tank.

The effort from the boys that played was exceptional – Gregory Ang top scored with 14 points with William Bogemann adding 11 and Jaxon Whitten scoring 8.

U14 Boys 6: W 64-20

The team played exceptionally well at our home stadium,

Intensity was high, and they got out to a good lead but dropped off a bit in the second half.

Still a strong win.

U14 Boys 9: Draw 48-48

We started slow and a little bit disorganised. Gave up a quick 10 point lead, but after an early time out, we regrouped and continued to work on our offensive transition and aggressive attack.

The game became an arm wrestle with the lead not changing significantly until the 4th quarter.

The team then focused on applying as much defensive pressure as it can and fought to regain the lead. The lead was gained late in the 4th and after some goal for goal plays, we secured a draw.

U16 Girls 2: W 35-33

Nail Bitter of a game. Our girls were down by 11 points at half time and fought back with a huge defensive 2nd half.

With 5 secs on the clock we were down by 1point. Coach Steph calls a time out to advance the ball to our half 2 quick passes and 1sec on the clock we put up a 3 and nothing but net!!!

We took the win with an awesome buzzer beater.

U15 Girls 4: L 29-71

The girls are starting to come together and play as a team.

Stacey did well on trapping the offence. Isabelle H did well finding the open drive to the ring.

It was a tough game for the girls as we only had 6 players take the court.

U16 Boys 9: L 42-69

Game was a fast pace, we are working on our defensive pressure and structure to help limit scoring.

Offensively we are getting a bit better at moving the ball and spacing to maximise scoring.
