WNBL Update:

We saw a great turnaround over the weeknd for round 2 of the WNBL season.
After dropping our home opener to the Sydney Flames, our squad overcame a slow start to hand the Adelaide Lightning a 34 point thrashing in our second home court outing for the season.
Mackenzie Holmes was phenomenal for the home side, dropping 33 points along with 6 rebounds and 2 blocks.
Jaz Shelley also contributed strongly with 25 points and 5 assists.

Up next, we hit the road to Bendigo, where we take on the 7th placed but always dangerous Bendigo Spirit tomorrow night at Red Energy Arena.
A return home will then follow as we take on the Perth Lynx this Saturday night from 7pm.
With GUB Tournament weekend in full flight, we’re expecting a BIG crowd, so make sure you secure your tickets before you miss out!

United In Purple:

We’re turning the courts purple for United in Purple Day to celebrate International Day of People with a Disability!
Whether you’re a player, coach, referee, or staff member, we want to see you rocking purple with your uniform at your community comp game on Wednesday, December 3rd!
Let’s light up the courts with colour, unity, and support for inclusion in sport.
TAC – Proud major partner of the Geelong United annual tournament (Koorr Koorr Ngitji):
The Transport Accident Commission (TAC) is proud to sponsor Geelong United Basketball for the Koorr Koorr Ngitji tournament, a celebration of community, connection, and the love of the game.
The TAC is dedicated to reducing road trauma and supporting those impacted by road accidents. With a core purpose of caring for the lives of everyone who travels on Victoria’s roads, the TAC funds treatment and services for people affected by road trauma. It also plays a vital role in promoting road safety, educating the Victorian community, and working with partners to foster a safety-first road culture.
The TAC also recognises the power of sport in recovery. David Harcon, a TAC client from Shepparton, sustained serious injuries in a road accident at age 19, leaving him paralysed from the waist down. With the TAC’s support, David accessed rehabilitation and community reintegration services.
Find out more about David’s story here.

VWBL season wrap:

Our Geelong United VWBL team wrapped up their inaugural season with a hard-fought battle in the Elimination Final, going down to Frankston 66–56.
Mitchell Tretton led the charge with an impressive 26 points, while Liam O’Hagan added a strong 18 points to the scoreboard.
While the result didn’t go our way, we’re incredibly proud of the team’s efforts and the foundation laid in this first season.
The future is bright, and we can’t wait to see the squad back on court in 2026!
