NBL1 WEEKEND WRAP:

4 Panel

Our NBL1 squads won 1 of 4 games over the weekend.

Our Geelong United Women prevailed against a previously undefeated Mt Gambier side on Saturday night with some end of game heroics from Shaneice Swain, hitting a long range 3 pointer to take the lead in the dying seconds of the game, followed by a late interception by Lasha Petree to cement the 2 point win.

Unfortunately, that would be the only W our teams would see over the weekend, with the Men’s squad losing both on Saturday night to Mt Gambier, and Sunday afternoon to Kilsyth, while the women were also defeated by Kilsyth yesterday afternoon.

Women:

Geelong 81 – Mt Gambier 79

Shaneice Swain – 28 PTS, 3 REB, 7 STL
Lasha Petree – 19 PTS, 9 REB, 3 AST
Sarah Elsworthy – 14 PTS, 7 REB, 3 AST

Kilsyth 88 – Geelong 77

Shaneice Swain – 34 PTS, 6 REB, 4 STL
Lasha Petree – 16 PTS, 6 REB, 3 STL
Jada Rice – 14 PTS, 12 REB

Men:

Geelong 81 – Mt Gambier 93

Liam Herbert – 16 PTS (4 of 7 from 3 point range)
George Blagojevic – 15 PTS, 4 REB, 2 STL
Latrell Jones – 14 PTS, 4 REB

Kilsyth 83 – Geelong 69

George Blagojevic – 16 PTS, 12 REB, 4 AST
DeMarcus Gatlin – 15 PTS, 6 REB, 3 AST
