RL Signs GUB Champs League Women’s Game of the Week: Wildcats vs. Sharks
In a clash between first and fourth on the RL Signs GUB Champs League ladder, the Sharks delivered a powerful reminder that the reigning champions remain a serious title threat, storming to a commanding 98-71 victory over the competition-leading Wildcats.
The Sharks relied heavily on the brilliance of their two stars, with Jada Button producing a sensational 47-point performance to lead all scorers. Georgia Varley provided the perfect support act, adding 30 points as the pair combined for 77 of their team’s 98 points. While the remaining four players in the Sharks’ rotation contributed single figures, the team’s relentless intensity and efficiency proved too much for the ladder leaders.
Despite the defeat, Ava Stonehouse was outstanding for the Wildcats, finishing with 27 points. Paige Pititto added 18, while Ruby Hall chipped in with 10, but the Wildcats struggled to contain the Sharks’ offensive firepower.
The statement win strengthens the Sharks’ hold on fourth place, extending their buffer over fifth-placed Pivot City to four games. Meanwhile, the Wildcats remain atop the standings, holding first place on percentage over YMCA.

RL Signs GUB Champs League Men’s Game of the Week: CC Eagles vs. YMCA
Despite missing key contributors Phil Wickham and Bailey Bruce, YMCA once again proved why they sit atop the RL Signs GUB Champs League ladder, grinding out a 76-65 win over the CC Eagles in the Men’s Game of the Week.
With two important pieces unavailable, YMCA’s depth came to the fore as several players stepped up to fill the void. Leading the charge was Kuol Reech, who delivered a dominant 27-point performance and provided the offensive spark his side needed. He was well supported by Kye Kelly, Xander Van Der Klooster and Kris van Parreren, with all three reaching double figures to ensure YMCA maintained control throughout the contest.
The Eagles battled hard and shared the scoring load, with seven of their nine players hitting the scoresheet. Matthew Jennings led the way with 19 points, but the lack of additional double-digit contributors made it difficult to match YMCA’s relentless pressure on both ends of the floor.
The result sees YMCA continue their remarkable unbeaten season, improving to 14-0 and strengthening their grip on top spot. CC Eagles remain fourth on the ladder, sitting three wins behind third-placed Pivot City as the race toward finals continues to heat up.
