GUB Champs League Wrap – Round 2
GUB Champs League Men’s Game of the Week Wrap: YMCA vs. Sharks
The GUB Champs League Round Two Men’s Game of the Week saw YMCA deliver a dominant performance, cruising past the Sharks 108–62 to remain undefeated and firmly atop the ladder.
YMCA set the tone early with pace, pressure and unselfish offense, quickly opening up a gap that continued to grow as the game wore on. Their balance across the lineup was a major factor, with contributions coming from every corner of the court and no let‑up across four quarters.
Kye Kelly led the way with a standout 28‑point performance, controlling the tempo and finishing efficiently. Alexander van der Klooster was a strong secondary option with 20 points, while Jackson Talbot (17), Philip Wickham (14) and Bailey Bruce (13) all added solid numbers to underline YMCA’s impressive depth.
For the Sharks, Devante Francis and Oska Rodgers led the scoring with 12 points apiece, but the lack of scoring depth made it difficult to match a well‑rounded YMCA unit.
After two rounds, YMCA stay on top of the leaderboard, edging Try Boys and CC Eagles on percentage, while the Sharks head into Round Three still searching for their first win.
