Geelong United Basketball and AFL Barwon are excited to announce that following a groundbreaking opening season, the Geelong Barwon Netball Summer Cup will return Jan. 19 2026. This innovative collaboration brings together two of the region’s leading sporting organizations with a shared vision: to promote lifelong activity through sport.
The Geelong Barwon Netball Summer Cup provides a dynamic off-season competition for local senior netballers, offering a high-energy format to keep players active and connected.The event will feature fast-paced games, a vibrant atmosphere, as well as a focus on enjoyment, whilst also maintaining the competitive spirit that local netball has become known for.
“This partnership is about more than just sport—it’s about community,” said GUB’s GM of Community, Emily Todorov. “By working with AFL Barwon, we’re creating a platform that celebrates athleticism, teamwork, and the incredible talent within our region.”

As the largest community basketball and netball associations in the region, this collaboration between GUB and AFL Barwon provides greater opportunities to grow both entities offerings to even more participants.
Registrations are now open for teams across all age groups to join the fun of the upcoming Geelong Barwon Netball Summer Cup season.
