GUB Champs League Men’s Game of the Week Wrap: Pivot City vs. SG Kings
Pivot City continued their unbeaten run in style, taking down SG Kings 107–80 in this week’s GUB Champs League Game of the Week. Despite fielding a short-handed squad of just six players, Pivot City put on an offensive clinic, proving why they sit atop the ladder with a perfect 5–0 record.
Cohen Blythe was the standout for Pivot, leading all scorers with 26 points in a dominant performance. He was well-supported by Dominic McGarvey, who added 24 points as Pivot’s efficient ball movement and relentless pace overwhelmed the Kings. Remarkably, five of the six Pivot players hit double figures, highlighting the team’s balance and resilience.
SG Kings struggled to match Pivot’s intensity but found bright spots through Jackson Cone, who top-scored with 22 points, and Riley Lay, who contributed 16. Despite their efforts, the Kings couldn’t slow down Pivot’s high-powered offense.
The win cements Pivot City’s status as the team to beat, while SG Kings slip to 6th on the ladder with a 2–3 record and work to do ahead.

GUB Champs League Women’s Game of the Week Wrap: Pivot City vs. Try Boys
Pivot City broke through for their first win of the GUB Champs League season, grinding out a 51–42 victory over Try Boys in a low-scoring but competitive Game of the Week. Both sides entered the contest short-handed, with just one sub on the bench apiece, but it was Pivot City’s efficiency and team-oriented offense that proved the difference.
Four of Pivot’s six players hit double figures, highlighting a balanced scoring effort. Grace Spehar and Matilda Sewell led the way with 11 points each, while Mackenzie Drew and Emily Lewis chipped in 10 apiece in a disciplined and composed performance.
Try Boys were again led by the ever-reliable Jade Chow, who continued her strong early season form with a game-high 19 points. Olivia Virt added 10, but offensive support was limited as Pivot’s defense held firm when it mattered.
With the win, Pivot City climb off the bottom of the ladder and gain some much-needed momentum, while Try Boys will look to regroup as they search for their first victory of the season.
