Jones Is United

Geelong United is excited to welcome our newest addition to the NBL1 Men’s roster, Latrell Jones.

Born in New Orleans, the 196cm guard joins us after his time with the Colonels of Louisiana’s Nicholls State University.
In his most recent season with the Colonels, Latrell averaged 15 points on 44 percent shooting, with 5 rebounds and 2 steals per game. His best efforts were saved though for the final three games of the season, averaging 21 points at 53 percent from the field – Numbers which would see him earn a work out opportunity with the NBA’s New Orleans Pelicans.

Geelong United Men’s Head Coach Grant Wallace is excited for the arrival of our new import guard – “We are extremely pleased to secure the signing of Latrell to our program. He had a remarkable collegiate career, and he comes highly recommended as a person of great integrity on and off the floor. Latrell provides us great flexibility as he is an exceptional athlete who can defend multiple positions, and I know our fans will enjoy watching him in transition, with his ability to knock down the three or his talent to be aggressive and creating off the dribble for himself or others. His exceptional work ethic and attention to detail will be contagious to our younger players. ”

Latrell, who will arrive in the country early next year, is eager to join his new teammates – “I’m excited to be part of a dynamic group of men with elite skills that coincides to one goal which is winning. Coming together is just the start but staying together is growth and development.”
