GUB Champs League Men’s Game of the Week Wrap: YMCA vs SG Kings

Pivot City continued their unbeaten run in emphatic fashion, overpowering the Wildcats 125-83 in a dominant display.

Cole Mcaninch led the charge with 32 points, while Max Kos (29), Oscar Leavold (23), and Aaron Ruiz (18) all played key roles in a relentless offensive performance. The win showcased Pivot’s depth and cohesion, as they maintained control from start to finish.

The Wildcats had standout efforts from William Ilsley and William Jones, who both dropped 28 points, with Jackson McDonald adding 16. Despite their individual brilliance, the Wildcats couldn’t match Pivot City’s firepower or defensive pressure across four quarters.

With the win, Pivot City remain undefeated at the top of the ladder with a perfect 16-0 record, looking every bit the championship favourite. The Wildcats, now 7th at 5-10, will need to regroup quickly to stay in the finals race with just a few rounds remaining.

GUB Champs League Women’s Game of the Week Wrap: Try Boys vs Pivot City

The Sharks continued their dominant season with a commanding 125-50 win over Pivot City, asserting control from the opening tip.

MVP contender Georgia Varley was in unstoppable form once again, dropping 34 points, matched by teammate Jada Button who also tallied 34, including multiple bombs from beyond the arc. Cortney Hollowood added 32 points in a powerhouse performance that highlighted the Sharks’ offensive depth.

Pivot City struggled to contain the onslaught but found a bright spot in Geelong United Big V Youth League star Grace Spehar, who led her side with 24 points. Fellow representative Matilda Sewell was the only other player in double digits, contributing 10 points in a tough outing for the squad.

The win keeps the Sharks perfect at 13-0, firmly atop the ladder and looking unstoppable as finals approach. Pivot City, now 4-9, remain one spot off the bottom and will need a strong finish to stay in the playoff conversation.
