RL Signs GUB Champs League Women’s Game of the Week: Pivot City vs. YMCA
Pivot City have produced the upset of the RL Signs GUB Champs League Women’s season, stunning ladder leaders YMCA with a hard-fought 60–56 victory. Entering the clash with just one win to their name, Pivot delivered their most complete performance of the year to claim a breakthrough result.
GUB BigV Youth League and NBL1 representative Mackenzie Drew led the charge with a game-high 21 points, combining brilliantly with Macey Bowie, who added 16 in a damaging one-two punch. Crucially, all seven Pivot players contributed on the scoreboard in a rare display of team-wide consistency that proved the difference.
YMCA pushed hard throughout, with Aleks Connolly and Harmony Parker each finishing with 14 points, while Taylah Richards chipped in 10. However, they were unable to contain Pivot’s balanced offensive effort down the stretch.
The result marks just Pivot City’s second win of the season, lifting them off the bottom of the ladder into fifth place. Despite the loss, YMCA remain on top of the standings at 8–3, still holding a one-game buffer in first.
