GUB Champs League Men’s Game of the Week Wrap: Pivot City vs. Sharks
The GUB Champs League Men’s competition launched Round One with an emphatic statement, as Pivot City dominated the Sharks 124–85 in the Men’s Game of the Week.
Pivot City wasted no time asserting control, exploding for 30‑plus points in each of the opening two quarters. Their relentless pace, sharp ball movement and scoring depth overwhelmed the Sharks early, allowing Pivot to build a commanding halftime lead and never look back. It was a complete team performance that showcased their offensive firepower and intent for the season ahead.
Max Kos was the standout on the night, delivering an outstanding 31‑point performance and setting the tone offensively. He was well supported by Elijah Whiteford with 22 points and Oscar Leavold, who added a strong 21. GUB NBL1 Men’s star Marach Marach also impressed, contributing 18 points and adding experience and presence at both ends of the floor.
For the Sharks, Aldo Halilovic carried the scoring load with 20 points, while Devante Francis added 19 in a tough outing.
Pivot City’s Round One performance sends a clear warning to the league.

GUB Champs League Men’s Game of the Week Wrap: Wildcats vs. Surfcoasters
The GUB Champs League tipped off Round One of the women’s competition in style, with the Game of the Week delivering a strong statement performance from the Wildcats as they defeated the Surfcoasters 68–51.
From the opening tip, the Wildcats set the tone with defensive pressure and efficient ball movement, taking control early and winning three of the four quarters. Their consistency across the court proved too much as they steadily built their lead and maintained momentum throughout the contest.
Charlotte Armstrong and Ava Stonehouse led the way offensively, pouring in 24 points apiece and consistently finding ways to score both in transition and in set plays. Brunswick Sharp provided valuable support, knocking down 12 points with some outstanding long‑range shooting that stretched the Surfcoasters’ defence.
The Surfcoasters showed fight, particularly through Loni Williams and Sienna McCumber, who each finished with 14 points. Matilda Camm also contributed strongly with 13 points, working hard to keep her side competitive.
Despite the loss, the Surfcoasters take positives forward, while the Wildcats deliver a warning to the league.
