Petree Is United

Geelong United is excited to welcome our newest import player to the NBL1 Womenโ€™s roster, Lasha Petree.

The Michigan native joins us after a decorated US collegiate career, suiting up for Rutgers University, Bradley University, and most recently Purdue where she averaged 14.7 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game – Numbers which would see Petree earn a training camp contract with the WNBA’s Connecticut Sun.

Throughout her collegiate career, Lasha also picked up many accolades including MVC Preseason Player of the Year (2020-21), First-Team All-MVC (2020, 2021), MVC Freshman of the Year (2019) and MVX Sixth Player of the Year (2019).

New Geelong United Women’s Head Coach, Jamie Petty was eager to sign Petree for the upcoming season – “Iโ€™m thrilled for Lasha to be joining our program for 2024.ย  During the recruiting process, Lashaโ€™s intelligence, professionalism and character really shone through, she will be the perfect addition for our culture! Lasha is an elite defender, high level shooter, and an outstanding athlete who will have her finger prints all over the game on both sides of the ball.”

Petree will touch down in Australia later this week.
